How Do I Soundproof My Classic Car With VBLAM Material?

How Do I Install This and Should I Put Any Sound Deadening On First? 

There is no immediate requirement to place sound deadening first unless you are looking for best in class performance.  If you are, you can apply ButylMAT high performance UK manufactured sound deadening first. 



If you are fitting ButylMAT classic car sound deadening first, cover approximately 20-100% of the area dependant upon the mass vs performance requirements of the classic car you are insulating, focussing the mass near noise sources within the vehicle (e.g wheel arches, transmission, engine bay) Then....
Use a templating material to gain a good 2D form of the area you are looking to insulate with premium classic car sound insulation, old cardboard boxes, newspaper taped together or professional templating material will work. 
Lay this template on top of one roll or two rolls of VBLAM classsic car soundproofing and mark out.

Cut to shape with a sharpe knife slightly over sized to the template.

Analyse fitment and adjust your classic car insulation accordingly. 

Final Fitment Of Your New Classic Car Soundproofing Insulation 

Using either tape (for ease of removal). spray adhesive, or loose lay where applicable, fit the insulation into the vehicle on top of the sound deadening if applicable. Fit the seating into place and expect results like the video link, please click the picture below: 



What If I Have A Van Floor To Insulate? 

If you have a van floor to insulate, you can also use our VBLAM floor insulation which is suitable for both classic cars and vans.  It is a premium product and offers both van floor acoustic performance as well as a thermal layer.  So if you are converting a van to a campervan this product is ideal.  Just calculate your envelope for insulation and soundproofing and choose either 23mm or 33mm VBLAM van floor insulation material.
